Digitalholics holds Texas Alarm License B12713501. From the Plano shop we design and permit the system, then install cameras, door and window sensors, and locks that can issue a temporary code for a contractor. Live view and arming sit in the same home control app (Control4) as the lights.
Recordings stay on a video recorder that lives in your house (an NVR). The internet can drop; last night is still on the box. Alerts fire for people, vehicles, and packages — so a tree branch does not wake you at 2 a.m. Professional 24/7 monitoring is optional, not required.
Where the cameras go and how big the recorder needs to be are our decisions; the paperwork that follows a monitored alarm belongs to the homeowner, and we prepare it with you rather than leaving it for later. McKinney requires an alarm permit once the system is set up to summon law enforcement. Allen reminds all residents and business owners to register their monitored alarm systems with the City of Allen. Our Process
Lot walk to licensed install
From the first lot walk to the day a contractor code expires on its own, the same licensed team owns every step.
Complimentary phone consultation
We start on a call: the lot, the approaches that worry you, any alarm already in the walls, and whether you want a monitoring center or phone alerts only. No charge, no obligation. If it is a fit, we book the property walk.
Walk the property
We walk the lot in daylight and after dark. We note driveways, side yards, fences, and any alarm sensors already in the walls. You tell us who needs a door code and whether you want a monitoring center or phone alerts only.
Design and permit
We draw camera positions and cable paths back to a closet. The written proposal lists what we install, what we can keep from an old alarm, and how it appears in Control4. We prepare the homeowner’s alarm permit paperwork with you.
Install on site
In-house technicians mount cameras and pull labeled cable back to the closet. They set the recorder and swap locks or add sensors. If you already have an alarm, we keep working door and window contacts whenever they are still reliable.
Set up and hand over
We set detection zones so trees do not page you at 2 a.m., load family codes, and pair the doorbell. You get walked through live view, playback, and a temporary contractor code — plus a labeled rack photo and a short written guide.
Stay on the system

Property Types
New builds, retrofits, and estates
A new build, a finished house, and an estate lot need three different camera plans.
New construction
During framing we drop camera cable to corners, gates, and garage eaves so nothing is stapled to brick later. The recorder and network switch land in the same low-voltage closet as the rest of the house. Builders in Frisco, Plano, McKinney, and Prosper can schedule us with the other trades.
Existing home retrofit
Finished walls change the plan. We reuse working door and window sensors when we can, then run new camera cable through attic space or a discreet raceway. Wireless sensors fill gaps where fishing a wire would wreck trim. The house stays livable while we work.
Large-lot and estate homes
A doorbell cannot see a side gate eighty feet from the stoop. These properties need driveway cameras, rear-yard coverage, and sometimes a second recorder so video is not all riding one switch. Locks at a gate or guest house get their own codes.
HOA neighborhoods
Some Plano and Frisco associations care about camera color and where a dome sits on the facade. We pick housings that match stone or stucco and keep cable off the front elevation. If the HOA asks, we can write a short description.

01How much does a security system cost?

02Do your systems require a monthly monitoring fee?
No. Self-monitoring through the phone app is part of the install, and video stays on the recorder in your house. Professional 24/7 monitoring — a person who calls the police when an alarm trips — is an option you can add now or years from now.
03Can you upgrade my existing alarm system?
Usually yes. We keep working door and window sensors and the wire behind them when they are still reliable. The panel, app, cameras, and locks are what typically get replaced. On the walkthrough we tell you what is worth keeping so you are not buying the same coverage twice.
04Where is my camera footage stored?
On the recorder in your house (an NVR), not in someone's cloud. Live view works from your phone when the internet is up; playback of last night works even when it is down. Off-site backup is available if you want a second copy.
05Will my HOA allow cameras?
Most DFW associations allow security cameras. A few have rules about color, size, or mounting on the front elevation. We work in communities such as Starwood and Phillips Creek Ranch and pick a housing that fits the facade. If the HOA needs a written description, we write it.
06Can this work with Control4 or the system I already have?
Yes. Cameras, locks, and arming show up in the Control4 app next to lights and shades. No automation yet? We install security first and leave a path to add lighting later. Homes already running Savant or Lutron are fine too.
07How long does a security install take?
Most retrofits are days, not weeks — camera count and whether we reuse working sensors decide. On a new build we schedule with the framing and electrical trades so cable lands before brick. The written proposal after the complimentary phone consultation includes dates.
08What should I check before choosing a security installer?
Ask for the alarm license number, the installation scope, what can be reused, where recordings stay, and whether monitoring is optional.
